Two Year old Podolsky is from Haiti and was born with life-threatening heart disease that seriously affected his growth and nutrition, he was failing to thrive.

His parents reached out to Chain of Hope. His condition needed urgent attention and could not be done in Haiti.

Our team organised and funded Podolsky’s  emergency journey from Haiti to Barcelona to be operated on by our partners at the San Joan De Deu Hospital, Barcelona.

During this time Podolsky underwent three complex operations to help his heart function normally.

He recovered under the care of the healthcare workers in Barcelona, survived lockdown in Spain during the onset of Covid-19.

Podolsky safely returned home to Haiti with his Mum and was greeted with celebrations organised especially for him.
