14 to Run Royal Parks Half-Marathon in aid of Chain of Hope

On Sunday Sunday 13th October 2024, Chain of Hope are delighted have 14 participants in the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London!

All14 amazing volunteers running and fundraising on behalf of children witth heart disease.

Hassan Alaghband

Hassan is a long-time and very valued supporter of Chain of Hope. Hassan also ran the Royal Parks on behalf of Chain of Hope in 2022.

Majid Fustok and Victoria Sirotyuk

Majid is a long-term supporter of the charity. This is his second time running the Royal Parks Half Marathon for Chain of Hope, and he is excited to once again run and fundraise for children with heart disease.

Victoria is a model with Base Models. Although she has previously run a 15k, this will be her first half marathon.

Andy Collins

Andy has been in the fitness industry for over 20 years and is a Personal Trainer and Sports Coach. He is the founder of health and wellness company, Try4Fitness. Andy became familiar with Chain of Hope through his partner, whose family are well affiliated with the charity and have been supporters and donors for many years.

Minka Nyberg and Peter Wild

Minka heard of Chain of Hope through her friend, Najla Nabih, who sits on the Chain of Hope Gala Ball Committee. Minka is a keen runner and has completed several marathons and half marathons in the past.

Minka will be running alongside her husband Peter, who has previously completed two half ironman triathlons and four marathons.

Zakiya Ilyas

Zakiya works at the Ministry of Defence and is the sister of Chain of Hope staff member, Sophia, who works as part of the Missions team as Volunteer Coordinator.

Leigh Burns

Leigh is a Senior Clinical Perfusionist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, where she works as part of their cardiovascular surgical team. She became aware of Chain of Hope through her colleagues several years ago and is proud to run and fundraise for a cause that is so close to her heart.

Leah Bisson

Leah is an Environmental Consultant at Hodgkinson Consultancy. She is deeply passionate about the education and well-being of Syrian refugee children in Jordan—a focus of her Master's dissertation. She feels strongly connected to this cause, recognizing the challenges these children face. As Leah explains, “Chain of Hope’s work in Jordan is incredibly important to helping children in such a vulnerable place and situation.”

Chatham Financial

Chatham Financial are a Global Financial Risk Management Firm. This year, they have four members (there of which are pictured above) of the company making up their team:

  • Chris Towner – Managing Director
  • Justyna Dobrzynska – Payroll

To encourage members to reach their targets, Chatham Financial have already generously donated £1,500 to Chain of Hope.

Nick Slater

Nick is a Data Analyst at British Airways. He ran the London Marathon for Chain of Hope in April 2024 and raised over £7500 in memory of his baby son George, who sadly passed away from a rare heart defect in 2023. “No parent should have to lose a child purely because they live in a location where cardiology is far less developed. Chain of Hope gives these children a fighting chance, and really that is all these children need”.

Join us at the Chain of Hope cheer point!

We will be stationed in front of the Serpentine North Gallery near miles 6 and 8, and will once again be joined by UFO Steelband. Please feel free to join us to help cheer on our runners.
