Ibrahim

Ibrahim from Iraq was born with a hole in his heart, a condition called Ventricular Septal Defect. He was also born with the arteries the wrong way around in his heart, a condition called Dextro Transposition of the Great Arteries. These conditions affected Ibrahim’s growth and his ability to breathe, and required urgent surgery within the first two months of his life. 

The Palestine Children’s Relief Foundation (PCRF) referred Ibrahim to Chain of Hope, and after our Medical Board approved his case, we were able to sponsor and arrange for him to fly to Bangalore with his mother. Dr Chinnaswamy Reddy from Narayana Institute of Cardiac Sciences, in Bangalore, treated Ibrahim in a complex operation, switching his arteries around and patching the hole in his heart. 

We are delighted to announce that he is recovering well from his operation and will soon be reunited with his family in Iraq.
